5. How does synchronization work?
- Synchronization works by having a small software agent on the PC. Initially it synchronizes (makes an exact copy) and replicates that to your cloud storage location, plus any additional devices connected using the same account credentials e.g. laptop or desktop.
- The agent then automatically and instantly copies any changes or new files that are created to the storage location and other devices.
- If a change is made to an existing file, only the changes are sent, not the entire file.
- This means that the cloud storage locations, as well as your other devices, have the same exact copy on them. No matter which device the file is changed on or created on the changes are pushed (synchronized) across all devices.
- This happens in the background and does not slow down the PC. There is no need for scheduling. As soon as the file is saved locally, the synchronization happens automatically. If the device is offline, as soon as it comes online again, synchronization will happen.
- The data does not need to be restored to access it. It can be accessed through any web-enabled device, whenever you need it.
6. How does the licensing work?
- Minimum purchase is 3 users (2 users in North America)
- Maximum License size in 100 users. (Multiple 100 user licenses can be purchased, but multiple administration consoles will be required.
- Each user license gets 50GB of storage allocation
- All users storage allocation is pooled together as one company allocation, so no need to complicated quotas
- Pricing is a subscription and is paid annually

It depends on method of purchase:
If purchased via licensing, additional seats must be purchased via licensing.
- Each additional user license purchased will also get 50GB of storage
- The licenses will all be co-terminated (Combined) to ensure you still only have one license and that all users have the same end date.
If purchased online, additional seats must be purchased via licensing.

Support is expected in early 2012
17. Are there any features missing in the trial version of SafeSync for Business?
No, the trial version has all the features and capabilities you get in the full paid for solution.
18. How do I convert a trial account to a paid for version?
When you activate your Registration Key on the URL (below), if you sign in with the same username and password as your trial, your account will automatically be converted to the full version. This will take place immediately.

19. What is the duration of a Trial?
- 30 days from activation of trial.
20. Is there an SLA with SafeSync for Business?
Presently, there is no SLA, but we strive for 99.9% availability.
21. How Secure is my data?
- Confidentiality – Data center operated by Trend Micro, no one has access to data on server
- 24/7 Surveillance – Access to the cabinets and servers is biometrically controlled and always under surveillance
- Encryption - Data is transferred between you and the SafeSync service using the same AES 256-bit encryption used by financial institutions for online banking
- Access control – You have the ability to share or revoke access to your shared files at any time
- Network and server security - Our system uses an industry best practice secure permission structure to safeguard file access, all hosted in our state of the art data center
- Firewalls - Defends equipment from cyber attack with multiple firewalls
- Load balancers - Ensures constant availability of online backup and file restoration, even in the event of equipment failure
- Redundant server and Internet connections - Two copies of data are stored on two separate servers plus two separate service providers connecting the data center ensuring availability of data

22. What happens to data after a trial or your full license expires?
- 1-30 days – Trial (Full access to files, upload and download - same functionally as paid version)
- 31 – 60 days - No upload or download of data
- 61 - 90 days - Account is deleted
- 91+ days - Data removed from servers
As long as you buy a full license and activate or renew an existing license before the 60 days after expiry, then you will be able to synchronize to your existing data.
23. Where are the SafeSync data centers?
- Presently, we have the main data center in the US.
- In Q3 2011, we will open another data center in Germany.

29. How is SafeSync for Business sold?
- On a per user basis. Each paid user has their own private account, but the company’s administrator creates and controls these accounts
- Each user gets 50GB of storage allocation; this storage is shared centrally as a company pot. Therefore, if a customer bought 10 users they would have a central storage allocation of 500GB
- Each additional user license purchased will add an additional 50GB of storage to the central storage allocation
- Pricing is a yearly subscription. The price in Year 1 will be the same price in Year 2 and 3 and so on.
- The minimum user purchase per license is 3 users.
- The maximum user purchase per license is 100 users. Multiple licenses can be purchased for 100 users, but each console will have to be managed independently.
